Center of Excellence (COE)

The Center of Excellence (COE) will help ensure the successful delivery of enterprise applications by providing an expert working group with expertise and thought leadership around enterprise application development needs.

Objectives and Strategy to Achieve Goals

The COE achieves its goals using an incremental and iterative approach. Each increment defines additional detail and a higher level of achievement. All stakeholders are included in the steps toward implementing an adaptive process allowing for accurate requirements capture and improved modeling. Key issues of critical applications are addressed through mentoring, architecture definition, and application best practices. Application knowledge, artifacts, reusable components, and applicable technology information are captured as intellectual property in the COE repository. As additional application needs are addressed using existing COE knowledge, application team knowledge is increased and the repository content grows.

Scope

The typical scope of a COE engagement varies from organization to organization, and scope is primarily determined by the types and number of projects being addressed. The typical size of a COE can vary from three to nine senior consultants.

The COE defines its success by achieving the following objectives:

Establishment and publication of enterprise technology and tool standards
